IRCT is a national organisation which seeks to create and connect networks of professionals throughout the UK and facilitate collaboration to develop and improve best practice for all children who have been traumatised and need help to recover.
Thanks to the help of our patron we are able to hold three Best Practice Forums a year at the House of Lords free for our members as part of their membership. Speakers who are expert in their field donate their time to share up to date developments in research and practice. We also offer regular online training events.
In conjunction with universities we also host Regional Best Practice Forums to promote awareness of issues and develop best practice anywhere in the country willing to work in partnership with us.
In partnership with other like minded organisations we are planning to host a International Centre for Therapeutic Care to help disseminate information and further promote best practice.
IRCT facilitates working groups to target specific issues drawing together members with similar interests and expertise who can work together to produce guidance for the wider workforce. We can help anyone who would like to target a specific area for consideration to create a working group which can then report back to the Board of Trustees to promote dissemination of the ideas.
Trustees seek to join relevant APPGs to have a voice on policy development and have the support of our patron to be able to target appropriate groups. We are part of the NICE consultation group enabling us to have a voice on developments in the health service and part of the Child Care Alliance which considers developments in services for Looked After Children.
